Shapes and Colors Week

Week one of our fall schedule went great! Well for the most part :) Definitely had to make a few changes during the week with one wanting to do one thing and the other something different. The twins personalities really come out when you try to do the same activity. A loves to color, do crafts, and is so proud of her artwork when we hang them up in the house. M on the other hand, well he could care less about coloring or making a cute little craft but loved any activity that we had him up and moving. They both loved reading time and playing with beads. The sensory table was also a huge hit. Painting was messy, play-doh was fun, water table was very wet but perfect for this hot weather! Their favorite activity was making cookies with sprinkles and of course eating them.

The week was not always perfect, it was funny but not perfect. One day M did not want to do a craft, he did want to stick his lizard on the contact paper. A did not enjoy that at all! She cried her little eyes out that M was doing it wrong and the lizard did not belong on the craft, only ribbons. I ended up taking M in the other room to play with his colorful lizards while finishing the craft with A. When I hung them up I said look how pretty M and A's craft are. That little girl looked at me and said NO MOMMY those are A and A's craft! I was not allowed to give little man any credit--funny girl!

We also adjusted my weekly plan. I knew M was not going to sit perfectly at the table while we learned our colors while coloring. Nope, instead we worked on our colors by throwing lizards on the ceiling and seeing what color was going to drop first on their heads. Whatever it takes with two year olds :)

Another favorite this week was the bean bag toss. One day we did bean bags the next we used the balls from the ball pit. It was also the perfect game to play peek-a-boo with.

The twins enjoyed playing with beads. I attempted to make a bead holder since they were a little too young to lace beads. They worked great for 2 days, then the twins decided they would pull them out apart.

More fun from our week......
