A day at the Park

One of the first things we did on our break was head to the park with my sister, her kids, and my parents. It has been years since I have been down to Pullen Park. It was a perfect day to ride the train and carousel, play on the playground, and have a picnic. I feel so blessed to have them close by so we can spend days like this out together.

Midweek Randoms

 midweek Random.....

*so thankful for these 80 degrees days--love the heat!

*I think the babies are going to skip the wheels on the bus music :( Found A dancing around to the big boys pump up music for soccer. Yes my little girl was popping some tags.

*Only one more day of soccer tryouts. This is much harder on the mommy then the boys.

*My entire dining room is covered with crafts and goodies for the twins birthday. Do you think decorating 3 weeks early is bad? I just can't wait!

*We are now doing a Moe's style chicken/steak taco bar for one of our weekly meals. The boys love it, it has become a new favorite in the house.

*M slept in his bed one night this week!!!! He has no problem going to sleep, it is just staying there!

*Love my BOB stroller! So thankful for sweet friends who gave it to us when we brought the twins home....It is perfect for the soccer field. It has a great cover for shade, little pockets on the side that the twins like to put their books in, and it is the easiest stroller to push around.

I hope everyone is having a great week!!

11 months already!!

I cannot believe I am already planning the twins first birthday! I thought we just found out we were pregnant! This past year has flown by, my sweet little blessings are turning into little toddlers. At 11 months their little personalities are really coming out. A has been walking everywhere! She wakes up and takes off. If she loses her balance she will let out a little scream, stand back up, and off she goes. This little girl does not stop. M loves to use his walker and the past few days has tried walking more on his own. We will catch him doing squats to stand up, those are some strong legs. He has made it 7 steps before he goes back to crawling. He is our little speed crawler. If A is walking towards us he sits back and waits for a minute. Then he is off and he usually cuts her off right before she reaches us. Those two keep all of us laughing! I love to see them interact with each other. Their favorite game is peak-a-boo. A hides in a curtain and pops out with a great, big smile. M just laughs. He thinks it is the best game ever. A is also into balls. She bounces them, throws them, kicks them, and carries them around. M loves music and to watch soccer or weather on tv. If either of those come on he just stops and sits. When he sees soccer he yells out goal!!!

My first idea for the babies family party was to go to Pullen Park but now the babies are napping so well during the day I did not want to mess that schedule up. It has taken 10 ½ months to get them to a really good schedule! Instead we are going to have a family cookout. I love pinterest and have had so much fun finding the cutest ideas for parties. I have made several banners already, it is the best stress reliever! I love throwing myself into fun projects instead of sitting around stressing over soccer tryouts. These babies are going to have a very decorated house J

Catching up....

Catching up….so my goal was at least twice a week to keep up with something on the blog, well track out happened so I am already behind.  For those new to hearing the word Track-out, it is the break our kids get from year round school (go to school for 9 weeks get 3 weeks off). Basically it is their summer break right now. You would think with all the extra hands around I would get a break to play on the computer but after 2 weeks I feel like I am more behind on everything!! What the past two weeks have been like…..

Week 1- L has his soccer tryouts, the boys are still training with their spring teams, we are planning for our first family vacation trip to the beach, and we have our last soccer tournament of the season. Did I mention all 5 kids are home?

We left early Friday morning with one extra child (one of J’s friends came with us) and headed off to the beach. Thankfully my parents met us there for 3 days of beautiful beach time with a few soccer games mixed in.

Week 2- decided to make-over the entire upstairs. The twins moved to the larger bedroom, 2 of the boys moved to the bonus room, Eric moved his office to the old nursery, and C kept his room just the same. We try not to disrupt the teenage life J

At the same time J was going through his tryout week for soccer. This week was the most stressful tryout week we have ever had…I will have to save this experience for another day!!

We finished the upstairs by Thursday. Babies’ room is painted, all the closets are organized, and I am ready for a break!

The boys headed off for a guy’s weekend on Friday. A little more soccer and beach time for a few days. The twins and I decided one trip to the beach was enough and stayed behind this weekend.  We spent a lot of time outside enjoying this beautiful NC weather. We also had some girl time when mom came over for a visit Saturday morning. A little shopping at Babies-r-us and salads from Charlie’s Kabob J Yummy!!

Week 3-this week is yard week (the boys are wishing they could head back to the beach!!). Yesterday we were able to get most of the backyard worked on.  The next 2 days I hope to get caught up on the front.

We are also on to our last week of soccer tryouts. C starts tonight!! One more week!! This is the first time that we have dealt with having tryouts all 3 weeks of our track-out—not fun!! Love that the boys all play the same sport but could do without these few weeks.

Thankfully we have some more family fun time planned before they head back to school—La Galaxy comes to play on Weds, heading off to the movies to see Iron Man 3 with my boys, and the first 3v3 soccer tournament of the summer.

Looking forward to the boys only having 4 weeks left of school, I am ready for the next break!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day started a little early this year, since the boys had soccer all afternoon on Sunday they wanted to turn Mother's Day into Mother's week. How sweet of them :) On Monday I received 12 beautiful Sunflowers. Tues- Thurs they tried their best to help with the house. Thursday night they cleaned the house spotless for me so I could spend Friday morning out shopping with my mom instead of worrying about getting the house ready for the weekend. Friday the boys ordered one of my favorite cakes from Nantucket Grill to enjoy--yummy Strawberry Shortcake (it was gone by Saturday night). Saturday was family day-my favorite time! We all went to cheer on my nephew at his soccer game then headed out with my parents, sister, and her family for lunch at Moe's. The twins did great. They had their first quesadilla and loved every bite. Saturday afternoon I had a great afternoon nap before heading out for some more soccer. Mother's Day I woke up after having the best night of sleep in 11 months, the twins slept through the night!!!!! The best present!!

The boys have been busy making this day so special. I love the sweet card/poster they made. I also received a new Mom Bible and coffee mug that has our family verse on it. Love their thoughtfulness!!
Other favorites from Mother's Day-
*being able to attend church with my boys
*Mother's Day lunch at Shuckers
*another afternoon nap
*time to play on the computer and catch up on my blog
*beautiful charm for my bracelet
*watching a hallmark movie
*watching Breaking Dawn 2
*having 8 grandkids together for my mom
(we missed Sophia and Anna Claire)
*Joshua's poem that won Most Poetic in the newspaper
*my Mother's Day balloon

The little things...

It is the little things that make me smile. Yesterday I asked L to help me with some baby proofing, his job was to put in the outlet plugs anywhere the babies play. I have been noticing that the lights were not working, the clocks were out, the babies sound machine would not turn on. My sweet little helper unplugged everything!! I asked that all the plugs would be filled to make it safe and he did! Today I have spent the day plugging things back in and resetting clocks. I am so thankful that boy has such a big heart and wants to protect his little brother and sister.  Love that boy!!!!
