Week 22

What a week!
We started the week with getting a call from J's school saying he was hit in the head with a rock. I can't even count the number of calls we have received over the past 10 years with the 3 boys. A lot of bumping heads, fell on the playground, etc...I knew this one was different when the PE teacher calmly said it is really bleeding and how fast can you get here. This was a first. Of course I was out the door while telling Eric he had the twins. I pulled up to the school to be greeted by one of the teachers standing outside-not what a momma wants to see. As I walked in the office there was a police officer, principle, assistant principle, all of J's core teachers, the nurse, the PE teacher, someone cleaning up, and my sweet J. As soon as he saw me the tears started :( He moved his hand and there was a good size cut on his head. I knew how much heads can bleed (3boys!!) but this was a little much. We all sat there while the fire truck, ambulance, and another police officer showed up. What a fun afternoon. This was protocol that the school had to follow with a head injury. As soon as the EMS cleaned him up we were out the door and on our way for stiches. He ended up needing 3 stitches :(
This all occurred because boys will be boys. One child picked up a rock while on the track and told another child to go long. J's head just happened to get in the way. This boy just happened to be a baseball player. Those two things did not help!
J did enjoy being correct when the PE teacher was asking him questions trying to take his mind off of all the blood...
1. Who will show up, your mom or dad?  MOM  (correct)
2.  Do you think she will be the EMS? YES (correct)
3.  Do you think she will get sick when she sees all this blood? NO (correct)
My child knows me so well!
We did offer for J to skip school on Friday since he had to wear a lovely bandage but he decided he should go. I guess after missing 8 days this year for soccer he couldn't let a bandage keep him home.

The rest of the week was much calmer!
* the boys enjoyed the new fire pit they helped build

*L played in his first 3v3 of the summer

*These two love their walks to the bus stop each morning

*New PJ's! A had a fit the other night when we took off her dress for bedtime, she did not want to wear the pjs we had. We have now moved on to nightgowns! Every night she picks one out and twirls all around for everyone (she even has a matching one for her doll). She is such a girl!

Next week we start the twins birthday celebrations.....2 Years old!!
