Runner's Camp

Last week J and L attended Runner's Camp. They loved it!!! They did get rained out a couple of days but by the end of the week the weather was perfect. The last two days they held track meets for the kids.

J decided he would do the long jump and javelin on Friday. This was fun to watch. He missed the day they learned how to throw the javelin but he tried anyways. Yes, he was excited he received 6th place out of 7 :) Love it!!

L picked the long jump and high jump. He did not place and a few tears may have been shed but he did great! He had a few friends there from school, that helped! He was over it when it was time to do the obstacle course and run in the mud! Such boys!

Saturday was the fun day for the boys--it was all the running events! Both boys signed up for their favorite- THE MILE!! Go boys! Luke ran in the age group 6-9. He came in 3rd place overall and 2nd in his age group. He ran the mile in just over 7 minutes. Joshua ran in the age group 10-12. He came in 4th place overall and 2nd in his age group. He finished the mile in 6 minutes 42 seconds. WOW :) So proud of both of them, they love to run!

They also participated in the hurdles and Luke ran the 100. Joshua took home 6th for the hurdles and Luke took home 5th for the 100.
(both boys are in the air :)

The camp took a break between all the running events to let the siblings run. The boys woke M up for his nap for this. Well they said he just happened to wake up as they went by the stroller :)
C helped A along in the race. He was going to make sure she crossed the finish line (she came in 1st:)
M on the other hand was enjoying the crowd. Every time they cheered he would stop to look. It was such a cute race.

If you are interested in a camp next summer this one is great! I love that they talked about their day the entire drive home!  They learned bible verses, played in the water, ran A LOT, and just had fun! They also did a great job including the entire family in the fun :)

M happy to get a snack while A falls asleep

Nap Time!

The twins practicing for next year!!! I think we have a couple more runners in the house!

C running along with L for encouragement while Daddy and A cheer him on!
