Weekend Away with Joshua

I did it, I left the twins for the first time. Last weekend Joshua's soccer team traveled to Chattanooga, TN. Eric had to coach that weekend so it was my turn to travel. Thankfully I had my amazing friend that drove us there. If she didn't drive I am not sure I would have gotten in the car! Having eight hours to talk and catch up helped take my mind off of leaving the little ones for the first time. I wasn't worried at all about Eric being able to take care of them, he had Caleb there to back him up if needed. I was more worried about the twins. They did great of course, they had lots of special time with daddy, Caleb, Luke, and my parents. We were also able to Skype each day....my sweet 5!

For me this was such a special weekend for some many reason.....
*I loved being able to spend some one on one time with Joshua.

*I loved being able to catch up with all the parents.
*I loved having the morning to explore downtown Chattanooga.

*I was able to take a shower without little ones sitting on the other side of the shower door waiting for me to get out.
*I was able to go to Starbucks and actually finish the entire cup of coffee while it was still hot. I loved this Starbucks, it had an outdoor fire going.

*I went to out to dinner with two of the moms and didn't have to share my dessert :)
*I went on a long walk with Joshua and we just talked.
*Breakfast at Cracker Barrel
*We stopped at the cutest sandwich and bakery shop in Asheville on the way home.
*I loved that Joshua was able to have some time just to hang out with the team.

*and of course there was soccer :)  The boys played great. Two more wins and I was able to see Joshua score.

February Update

This month we celebrated Valentine's Day, Our 18th Anniversary, and time off from school!

Joshua and Eric were busy traveling every weekend for soccer.

We surprised my dad with a birthday party.

Eric and I took the twins out for ice cream.

Before all the cold weather hit we had some beautiful spring like weather.

I love watching these two after we close the door for naptime. I am not sure which one got out of bed first but they stood at the door together trying to decide who was going to open it :)

My sister gave Caleb an early 16th birthday gift, tickets to NC State vs Va Tech game.  He had great seats right behind the players and even made it on ESPN. We joked that she even set up having 4 girls sitting next to him.

Early morning breakfast run to McDonalds in our PJs.

This girl loves to dress up for the day.
This made me laugh--Eric and I love our fitbits. The other night we compared our sleep cycles. Eric did take Tylenol PM that night so he slept great! I on the other hand listened to the tree branches snap from the snow, picked up a teddy bear that was dropped out of the bed, tried to get Matthew back in his bed, etc....
Our anniversary night.... dinner in the dining room while the big boys watched the twins. After dinner we took a family selfie...perfect 18th anniversary with my 7!
