It is not spring yet but outdoor soccer has begun. Caleb had a tournament in Charlotte. Joshua had 3 futsal games here along with an early morning training. We dropped him off with friends for the night. Luke had his first tournament of the season in Winston-Salem, 2 hours from here. Thankfully we were expecting some nice weather for the weekend! I started packing the twins bag. For one game at a field 2 hours away I packed three bags. We had extra coats in case it was cold. We had hats, gloves, and lighter jackets. We had change of clothes for both because they are three years old! We had extra shoes. We had snacks--a lot of snacks. We had lollipops. We had soccer balls for both. We had toys, books, and ipads. We had Luke and his soccer gear! Whew!! I think it was easier when they were infants and sat in the stroller during the games!!
Sunday morning we were up bright and early to head to the field. Matthew was the most excited about going to the field, he had his cleats on and soccer ball in his hand. I explained to him that this was Luke's game and we would watch Luke play. He was ok with that just ready to get to the field. Thirty minutes into the drive he had enough. He did not understand why we were not at the field yet. I did what any good mom would do, I whipped out the ipad for movie time :) I told the twins after 1 Curious George, 1 Blues Clues, and 1 Lion Guard we would be there! That completely worked! They just needed to know how much longer in preschool terms!
These two were great at the field. While Luke warmed up with his team we found an empty field to play soccer.
We then walked and walked and walked! These two were going to get tired so they would sit during the soccer game
During the game we had a lot of snacks!
Abby had her pom poms to cheer on Luke.
Matthew stayed busy taking pictures with his Spiderman camera.
When Luke scored he dabbed, Abby had to dab too.
Matthew also practiced his soccer.
These two love their brother so much!
Game 1 of the season done...this is going to be a busy travel season for the twins!
