This year I told Eric all I wanted for my birthday was a real family vacation to the beach (not a soccer trip with a few days at the beach thrown in!) After looking at the crazy soccer schedule for the summer Eric put together a long weekend trip down to West Palm. We stayed at a great little resort on the beach that we would go to while living there. We had a lot of beach and pool time. We were able to visit with family and friends. The hotel had some fun activities that we did as a family. The best part was being together. Eric and the boys would watch the twins so I could have my birthday trip off :) It was so sweet. I actually sat down in a beach chair, that never seems to happen. The boys watched the twins so Eric and I could take long walks on the beach at night! When the twins napped I headed down to the pool to watch the boys swim and catch up on some reading. The resort also had a bonfire going every night! Smores--yummy! We celebrated Christmas in July on Saturday night-cold cocoa, snow blowing, and Christmas movies. One day we had rain in the afternoon then saw a beautiful rainbow over the ocean. The last night we watched fireworks from our balcony. I told Eric he really made it special with all my favorites--sunrise, rainbows, fireworks, beach time, bonfires, Christmas...it was perfect way to say goodbye to the 30's and hello 40!
